Do you Vertigo? (revisited)

Once again, I seem to be within the grasp of this damn vertigo sickness. I felt it starting up again on Tues, and by Weds it was in full swing. :( So, now I'll be going to the Docs again, maybe this time they can give me something that will make it stay away for good - or maybe I just need a longer prescription, maybe the sickness wasn't completely gone when I ran out of Meclizine pills.

On a different note, the sky was beautiful this morning, it only lasted for 10 minutes or so. Makes me wish I had my camera with me, the sky was glowing a reddish-orange near the horizon with dark blue-purple clouds in front of it. A mix of puffy and striated clouds. So friggin neat.

The Dream Cycle, 2006.7

Changing the title format again... now it's current year followed by the remembered dream number.

This dream is actually from last week, I had just forgotten to write it down here. I'll call this one, Levitation and Bending Dimensions.

That's right, another levitation dream. As I said in my other post, I tend to have these dreams relatively often. The dream begins at my parent's old house near Baltimore. It was a one-story rancher style with some coniferous style trees buttressed up against it in some areas. In my dream, the roof of the house had rusty red clay shingles and it had been raining recently. I decided to levitate up to the roof, and did, so I sat on the peak of the somewhat near the center. I heard my mom was looking for me and I was snickering that she couldn't find me.

Now the weird part kicks in. I made a little diagram to help explain this:
Roof

The red dot is where I sitting on the roof. The green dots are the coniferous trees. I could see the side of the house from where the blue are is pointing even though it is behind my current position. It's like my sight was detached from my body, though I don't remember seeing me sitting on the roof, but I don't remember looking for me either; I was focused more on the front of the house.

Well, that's the extent of the dream, I don't remember what I was looking for.

Goodbye, Mr. Palance...

From CNN:

Oscar winner Jack Palance dead at 87
POSTED: 10:04 a.m. EST, November 11, 2006

LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- Actor Jack Palance, who won an Oscar with his comedic self-parody in 1991's "City Slickers," died Friday.

He was 87, said spokesman Dick Guttman, and died of natural causes in his home in Montecito, California, surrounded by his family.

Known for hard, grizzled roles in numerous Westerns during his six-decade career, Palance gained a second wind of fame when he won the best supporting actor Oscar for playing Curly in "City Slickers." The actor clutched his Oscar in one hand and dropped to the ground for a round of vigorous one-handed push-ups.

The Academy Awards crowd laughed and applauded as he said, "That's nothing, really. As far as two-handed push-ups, you can do that all night, and it doesn't make a difference whether she's there or not." It was a magic moment that epitomized the actor's 40 years in films. Always the iconoclast, Palance had scorned most of his movie roles.

"Most of the stuff I do is garbage," he once told a reporter, adding that most of the directors he worked with were incompetent, too. "Most of them shouldn't even be directing traffic," he said.

Palance was born Vladimir Palaniuk in Pennsylvania. His family was Ukrainian and his father was a coal miner. He was a professional heavyweight boxer in the early 1940s, but his career in the ring was halted by a stint in the military. Palance was wounded in World War II and received a Purple Heart.

His acting break came after the war as Marlon Brando's understudy in "Streetcar Named Desire." He replaced Brando on stage as Stanley Kowalski, a working class construction worker with a fierce temper in Tennessee Williams' classic play.

According to the Internet Movie Database, Brando asked the actor if he would work with him on a punching bag but wound up with a sore nose when Palance missed the bag and hit the superstar. Palance's portrayal of Kowalski earned him a contract with 20th Century Fox, the IMDB says.

He went on to positive reviews in a film career that included "Young Guns" in 1988 and "Batman" in 1989. Palance also made guest appearances on numerous television shows, such as "The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour," "Playhouse 90" and "Your Show of Shows."

Palance was nominated for an Academy Award in 1952 after portraying the ardent lover who stalks a terrified Joan Crawford in "Sudden Fear." In 1953, the Academy nominated him again for his role as Jack Wilson, the swaggering gunslinger who bullies peace-loving Alan Ladd into a barroom duel in the Western classic "Shane." Palance also won an Emmy Award, for a role on "Playhouse 90," in 1957.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine Rogers; two children by his first wife, Holly Palance and Brook Palance Wilding; his brother, John; sister, Anne Despiva; and three grandchildren.

Goodbye, Mr. Palance, we hardly knew ye.

The Dream Cycle 1.6

Changing the title format to year.dream #
We'll call this dream Babies and Levitation

I dreamt Colleen had a kid (not mine, mind you) and we were down in Ocean City, MD at some kind of party or gathering. She had to step out a minute, so I was stuck watching her kid, I never got his name btw. o.O Anyway, the child and I are in this gathering, and I'm holding him since he was whining, I remember talking to people but not about what, then my sister Michelle sees me holding this kid and freaks out. She gets her camera cause she wants to take a picture of me and the kid. I've never been very comfortable around kids, though I've gotten better about that, and she wants pictures. Well, the camera doesn't work and I figure it's about time to go find Colleen. The kid starts freaking out, saying that his mom will come back for him and we shouldn't go walking anywhere. I tell him his mom's right outside and it's ok.

>>Fast forward a bit - I don't remember this part<<

Now Colleen, the kid, and I are outside walking down the boardwalk, and I decide I want to start levitating. So as I'm walking, I stop putting my feet on the ground, stepping on air just two or three inches above the ground. Then I stop stepping all together and I'm floating along with them. I start getting more bold with the levitation and use my hands to guide my 'flight'. Palms up to go higher, palms down to go lower, palms left go left, palms right go right. So I'm floating up a good 15 to 220 feet above the boardwalk, other people are watching me, amazed. Colleen said something along the line that I should use that and my other ability to make some serious cash. (I have no idea what my other ability is)

>>End<<

The dream was very vivid and many, many times in my life I have dreamt of being able to levitate. It's got to have some kind of meaning behind it.
