Chunk Out and Chow

That is the perfect title for my Labor Day weekend food festival. We're talking crabs and sour beef and dumplings and apple crisp and macaroni and cheese and fried chicken and barbecue chicken and swedish meatballs and texas fries and corn and baked cinnamon apples and soft-serve ice cream and BLTs and watermelon and burgers and I'm sure there's more I missed. Oh, and this wasn't all at once, but there was a smorgasbord on Sunday that I went to that contained alot of this... mmmmm, good food.

On a different note, the happy little storm Ernesto that passed by this way a few days ago created minor flooding at my parent's joint down in the DE. A vacant lot about 2 houses away from their's was flooded too of course... except this lot is home to a large amount, no, a veritable army of grasshoppers. When it flooded the hoppers had no where to go, so as some of the cut tall grass started to float the hoppers got on board and floated in between my parent's and their neighbor's houses. So now said army of hoppers decided to make this their home as the water receded and they scaled the houses. The wall of the house was covered by a plague of hoppers. We're talking a plague of biblical proportions here! Creepy shit. Pictures to come soon.
